I'm always messing around with the cool things you can do with a camera. There's something about the ability to record light over a period of time...it's almost like your stopping time, or putting a movie on a single frame.
The other night I headed out to our pumptrack with a new headlamp I got for my birthday. A number of people like to ride at night here in the desert, and I've been wanting to give it a try. I also knew that the light would give me a unique opportunity for photos.
I set up my camera on a tripod and after a bit of trial and error, landed on the settings you see here. After that it was just a matter of using the remote timer to press the shudder run to my bike and make a lap, then head back over to the camera to see what happened.
The picture shown here is my favorite of a few. I've got a few ideas to make some shots more unique in the future but it was a fun experiment .
